Race Format & Entry Fees

Two starts per day – 9:00 & 10:30
Choose your challenge: 5K or short course (~3K)
Double up if you’re fit enough – dogs and humans alike!

Camping at Tackeroo

The Course

Our trail is a mix of fire breaks and winding single-track woodland paths. Expect:

Undulating terrain with roots and logs
Shared use with mountain bikers and the public
A quieter part of the Chase – with the chance to spot deer!

It’s not the fastest course, but it’s one you and your dog will love.

Race Rules (Kindness First!)

Dogs

Minimum age: 12 months (18 months recommended for large breeds)
No dogs with suspected or recent infectious disease (refunds in this case only)
BIS welcome – please notify us
No aversive tools: shock collars, prongs, sprays, grots, choke chains, or slip leads without a stopper

Humans

5K runners: 14+
Short course: under-12s must run with an adult
Support runners welcome (no extra fee)
Hidden/visible disabilities? Let us know – we’ll support you

Sportsmanship

Pass and allow passing with courtesy
Patience on single-track
Zero tolerance for insults or abuse

Other essentials

1–2 dogs per runner
Dogs may run both races each day
Refunds only for infectious disease cases; otherwise entries are non-refundable from 6 weeks before race day
If we cancel (e.g. due to weather), refunds issued minus a small admin fee
